Getting Started as a Tutor
Welcome to Learn Tagalog! Follow this guide to set up your profile and get approved for the public marketplace.
1Complete Your Profile
Your profile is your storefront. Students browse the marketplace and book trial lessons based almost entirely on your profile.
- Display Name: Use your real first name or a nickname you are comfortable teaching under.
- Specialty: Pick a specialty that matches your actual teaching style. If you are great with kids, pick "Tagalog for Kids". If you prefer casual chatting, pick "Conversational".
- Bio: Write 2-3 paragraphs. Introduce yourself, explain your teaching methodology, and tell students what to expect in a typical lesson with you.
2Record an Intro Video
Profiles with videos get 3x more bookings. It is a mandatory requirement to be listed on the marketplace.
Upload your video to YouTube (you can set it to "Unlisted" so it doesn't appear on your public channel) and paste the link into your profile form.
3Submit for Review
Once you fill out all the fields on your Profile page, your status will automatically change to Pending Review.
Our team reviews profiles daily. Once approved, you will receive an email notification and your profile will instantly go live on the public marketplace!
